The BIG Portfolio Shoot

In response to the ongoing demand for great portfolio shoots for both male and female models, I have put together a fabulous team of fashion professionals who have kindly agreed to give their time cheaply enough to be accessible to all.

Why have I put this day together?
I have models constantly asking me to arrange free photo shoots to build their portfolio. This takes time and forces me to use up favours from photographers, MUAs and stylists. The alternative may be to source student or amateur photographers, but the result is usually something fairly uninspiring and so will rarely result in paid work.
Poor quality photos in a portfolio are worse than useless. The main reason models miss out on work is poor portfolio presentation. A cheap looking portfolio is quickly dismissed by clients.

What is the aim of this day?
The aim is to get you GREAT portfolio images, showing you in the way you are meant to be shown.
Importantly, you will gain a complete commercial portfolio, showing clients your ability to perform in different shoots with different professionals.
By using such an outstanding team of professionals you will be made to look confident and stunning, giving you the best possible chance of gaining quality, paid work from clients.

What do clients want to see?
Put yourself in the shoes of the client casting for a shoot.
You are paying all your professionals by the hour, so you want your shoot to run smoothly. You need to see that a model is professional, versatile and, importantly, can work well under pressure with a team who expects results. To show you this, you want to see commercial style shoots, i.e. shoots that appear to have been paid for by a client, as opposed to a model simply smiling against a white background; the hallmark of the amateur model.

Why is a video reel so important?
The digital age has changed everything. Now there is little reason to hold castings, because good quality images and video are able to be quickly streamed over the net. Clients are now starting to prefer casting by video reel because it means less time to organise, less stress in face-to-face rejection and can all be done in the comfort of their office.
As you can imagine, video reels are even more important when you are casting for jobs internationally. If you want to make it overseas, a great video reel is a MUST.

What will be in the video reel?
This day allows us to get video reel footage better than most. You will be filmed in a brief seated interview, with your voice continuing over smoothly cut footage of you backstage during make-up, during the shoot and walking.

What do you get out of this day?

* 4 different shoots with two different teams.
* Make-up artists and hair stylists who work with the best models at the biggest shows in the country.
* Personal styling with clothes, shoes and accessories provided including mostly local, respected labels.
* 12 retouched images on disc: 6 from each photographer; two separate styles with each photographer and each image as different as possible, including headshots and full length.
* 12 printed A4 photographs presented in a professional portfolio folder.
* 20 copies of your own professional comp card.
* A 60sec HD showreel (optimum length for maximum impact) professionally cut together on disc with both DVD and web quality edits.
* Food and refreshments for the day
* Your photos featured on markfitzgerald.com.au and linked to in my industry mailout.
* The kudos of having worked with some of the best fashion production professionals in Melbourne: excellent bragging rights!

What does it cost?
$1700 incl gst.
